Day one will be an instructor led knowledge development session to learn the safety, science, physiology and psychology behind freediving. We will also cover diaphragmatic breathing and relaxation techniques, breath-up steps, recovery breathing, and equalization techniques. The next half of the day will be confined water sessions, where we will cover safety skills & your role as a buddy, static apnea, dynamic apnea and how to make a proper water entry.

Day two will be open water sessions 1 & 2 to practice free immersion (pull downs), constant weight, duck dives, proper buddy procedures and a rescue scenario at depth. Sessions will be held in the Blue Water of the Gulf Stream off South Florida, or at a spring fed Lake near Sebring (weather permitting)

Academic

Freediver Touch/E-Learning Modules
PADI Freediver Touch is an interactive learning tool. It’s like having an instructor in the palm of your hands, guiding you through the learning modules of freediving.

Good news - the PADI Freediver eLearning also includes all learning materials for the Advanced Freediver & Master Freediver!

Knowledge development
Learn the safety and science behind freediving. In a small classroom setting designed for instructor/student interaction, you will learn how your body naturally adjusts to water pressure and breath hold diving. Practice breathing and meditation techniques used by world class Freedivers to promote relaxation and mindfulness.

Confined water session
Students are taught freediving and breath hold techniques. Learn how to hold your breath up to three (3) minutes under the guidance and supervision of professionals. Also practice dynamic apnea, basic rescue techniques and learn your role as a buddy.

Open water sessions
Put your new found freediving skills to the test and practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper safety procedures. Experience depths up to 55 ft. under the supervision of trained professionals.

Equipment

Using gear designed specifically for freediving is best, however, in this course, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own. You will need:

  • Mask & Snorkel

  • Bi-fins

  • Wetsuit

  • Weight Belt & Weights
